Mission
TOPS is dedicating to eliminating tooth decay among underserved children and families through comprehensive dental services which include prevention, education and increased access to care, thereby planting the seed for excellent oral health for generations to come
Current Programs
TOPS views oral health as an essential compondent of comprehensive healthcare because a healthy mouth is more than healthy teeth. Oral health affects speech, nutrition, growth and function, social development, the abiltiy to concentrate and quality of like. TOPS' goal is to provide low-income children and adults with oral health care services.
TOPS's ongoing activities revolved around three main areas of evidence-based dentistry: prevention, treatment and education. All services are offered in English and Spanish. The majority of services are offered off-site at partners' facilities. However, TOPS sees 8 to 16 patietns in its dental clinic one day a week. Two volunteer dentists provide services, and TOPS does its best t ensure continuity of care, which allows issues to be recongized and addresses sooner, and to ensure patients' special accommodations are taken into account, such as additional time to manage pain.
